About the Role
As an Accountant in the Subledger Liabilities team, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of Swiss Re Group financial statements. You will work closely with international colleagues, business units, valuation experts, and auditors, gaining broad exposure to reinsurance accounting and finance transformation initiatives.
Your Key Responsibilities
• Support the preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements in line with IFRS 17 and IFRS 9.
• Prepare, post, and review closing adjustments in SAP subledger and general ledger systems.
• Perform balance sheet and income statement reconciliations and analyze variances.
• Support statutory reporting activities, including reserve adjustment entries where applicable.
• Act as a key contact for internal stakeholders and external auditors, responding to inquiries and providing analysis.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and finance transformation initiatives.
About the Team
The Global Finance Operations & Transformation (GFO&T) function ensures accurate, consistent financial information across Swiss Re, supporting both external reporting and internal decision-making.
Within GFO&T, the Subledger Liabilities team is responsible for the reporting of external liabilities under multiple valuation frameworks. The team is international, collaborative, and forward-looking, working closely with colleagues across locations, including Bangalore, and with key stakeholders across the business.
About You
You're a detail-oriented recent graduate with a passion for accounting and finance. You're eager to learn and apply your academic knowledge in a real-world setting. You have a growth mindset and are excited about developing your skills in a supportive team environment. Your enthusiasm and willingness to learn will help you thrive as you begin your career in financial reporting.
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
• A qualification in finance or accounting (e.g. CMA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).
• First professional experience in accounting, financial reporting, or finance operations.
• Knowledge of (re)insurance accounting and IFRS 17 is an advantage.
• Strong analytical skills and confidence working with data; solid MS Office knowledge.
• A structured, reliable, and proactive working style.
• Strong communication skills and fluent English (written and spoken).
• A collaborative mindset and openness to working in an international environment.
For Switzerland, the base salary range for this position is between 77,000 CHF and 115,000 CHF for a full-time role.
The specific salary offered considers:
• the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role
• the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience
In the situation where you do not meet all the requirements or you significantly exceed these, the offered salary may be below or above the advertised range. In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based annual bonus.
Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.
