With diverse operations and a strong focus on financial sustainability, they are seeking an experienced Accountant to join their tight-knit finance team.
Your new role
This is a unique opportunity to step into a broad and varied accounting role where no two days are the same. You will provide high-level financial support across both central operations and a network of community-based entities.
Your responsibilities will include:Operational Accounting & Reporting

Overseeing AP/AR and payroll processes (with backup support when required)

Managing accruals, prepayments and general ledger journals

Conducting balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations

Preparing monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reports

Investigating budget variances and providing timely analysis

Completing statutory requirements including BAS and FBT returns

Maintaining the fixed asset register

Supporting annual audit and budgeting cycles

Stakeholder & Community Support

Acting as the primary financial contact for multiple community groups

Providing analysis, reviews and guidance on financial performance

Onboarding and training stakeholders in Xero

Supporting the rollout of standardised accounting processes

Improving business systems and identifying opportunities for financial sustainability

What you'll need to succeed

Degree qualifications in Accounting

Experience in a hands-on Accounting role, ideally within the NFP, Education or Disability sector

Intermediate-advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)

Experience with MYOB and/or Xero

Strong communication skills and the ability to support stakeholders at all levels

High attention to detail, reliability and the ability to work to deadlines

A proactive, self-starting approach with a commitment to continuous improvement
