Job Summary: Under direct supervision of the Inspector General, Director, or Audit Manager, assists with identifying engagement level risks, assessing the design of internal controls, and completing and filing related workpapers. Arranges and facilitates meetings with stakeholders, including creating agendas and writing minutes. This position is classified as non-exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Essential Duties:
-Under direct supervision, conducts and completes phases of the audit process as assigned—including survey, audit plans and programs, field work, reporting, and
follow-up for assigned areas.
-Examines and analyzes accounting records, operations, policies, and procedures.
-Determines the validity and propriety of financial records; assesses the effectiveness of controls, the efficiency and effectiveness of operations, and the compliance with laws, policies, and procedures.
-Assists in performing audits in a professional manner. Executes audit procedures and prepares audit workpapers, documenting each step in the audit program. Ensures that information is presented clearly, concisely, accurately, and in logical sequence.
-Conducts assigned procedures relating to consulting services and investigations of fraud, waste, or abuse.
-Functions as the primary backup for auditing of Guardianship accounting and inventories.
-Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
-Associate’s Degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field from an accredited college or university, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
-Two years of direct, verifiable, and related work experience. Direct experience must be sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
-The ability to acquire certification as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
-Valid Florida driver’s license
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
-Skill in financial calculations, analysis, and reporting.
-Skill in organizing and prioritizing work.
-Skill in the operation of computer software and hardware sufficient to enter, retrieve, and manipulate data.
-Ability to analyze data and prepare reports.
-Ability to fluently read, interpret, speak, write, and understand the English Language.
