The Staff Accountant is a vital member of the Finance/Accounting team, responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the daily operations of the department. This role assists the Director of Finance and Assistant Director of Finance by supporting key accounting functions and ensuring compliance with company and accounting standards.
Position Responsibilities / Essential Functions
• Assist with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Income Audit, Income Journals, and General Cashier tasks
• G/L account reconciliations, inventories, and monthly closing responsibilities.
• Prepare and maintain financial documents and spreadsheets
• Assist in preparation of month-end closing procedures and reports
• Investigate, review and analyze the variance on monthly and annual financial statements, involving the department staff in this process. Take initiative to manage trouble shooting for respective cost controls and revenue enhancement
• Assist with special reporting and analysis projects
This is a non-exempt hourly manager position. The hourly rate range for this position is $31.79/hour to $46.01/hour. Decisions regarding compensation will be based on a number of factors, including experience, qualifications, and education.

Qualifications
• Degree in Accounting, Finance and/or Hospitality preferred
• 1-2 years hotel accounting experience, preferred
• A genuine desire to serve others in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Collaborative team player with the ability to work autonomously
• Demonstrates strong initiative and follow-through
• Proficient in Hyatt systems (Birchstreet, Opera, Oracle) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
