White Oak Commercial Finance (WOCF) is seeking an Account Executive to join our CA Factoring Team in the Los Angeles office. The candidate will become an integral member of the CA Factoring Team’s efforts related to the management and servicing of existing factoring and asset-based lending clients. Successful candidates will be motivated, independent, self-directed individuals with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills both over the phone and through email. The position will report directly to the Managing Director and will work closely with key members of the WOCF team to monitor, manage, evaluate performance, review valuations, and facilitate reporting related to ongoing portfolio investments, gaining valuable exposure to a diverse array of commercial finance structures within the dynamic WOCF environment. This is an entrepreneurial role that will have significant responsibility and an opportunity for growth within the firm.
The candidate will perform company and industry analysis, build, and maintain financial and monitoring models, facilitate investment valuations, and prepare internal and external presentations for senior level review. In addition, the candidate will participate in due diligence, data room preparation and management, document drafting and review, transactional and operational support, among other credit management activities.
We are seeking candidates with intellectual curiosity and strong interpersonal skills. The firm has a very tight-knit, team-oriented environment where ideas are discussed among the entire team. The role involves significant exposure to all firm personnel and requires a team-oriented attitude and high levels of assertiveness.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Manage a portfolio of factoring/ABL loans, across various industries and regions, with structures including accounts receivable, inventory, machinery and equipment real estate and certain stretch components.
- Prepare and underwrite annual account reviews, in addition to credit approval memorandums for amendments, waivers, modifications, facility extensions and consents.
- Maintain financial spreads, projections, and models.
- Monitor, calculate and confirm Borrower covenant compliance.
- Review and negotiate legal documentation.
- Approve and facilitate daily advance requests.
- Work closely with senior and portfolio management officers, operations, collateral analyst, and accounting teams to effectively and efficiently service clients.
- Review and react to field exam and appraisal results.
- Prepare for and participate in monthly portfolio trend meetings.
- Compile monthly and quarterly portfolio performance and compliance reports.
- Interface with third party field examiners, accountants, consultants, appraisers, and lawyers.
- Assist and lead with problem loan workout situations.
- Meet with clients on a routine basis.
- Attend industry events and partake in networking opportunities.
- Special projects and assignments as determined by manager and business needs.
Requirements
- 3+ years in commercial lending and/or factoring required.
- Must have strong understanding of credit fundamentals, loan monitoring and modification best practices, accounting, valuation, and financial statements.
- Exceptional Excel/modeling/forecasting skills are essential, as is advance knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Must be a detail-oriented team player and be able to methodically complete work in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivation and strong work ethic are vital. Must maintain a service-oriented personality, robust multitasking abilities, and possess an investigative mind.
- Strong writing skills are essential as well as fluency in English.
- Strong academic background with a demonstrated record of achievement. Preference for undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business. CPA or CFA charter holder/candidate is a plus.
