Join an established multi entity organisation as a Financial Accountant on a 12 month FTC Your new company
This established Sydney-based business operates a diverse multi-entity group and is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Working closely with an experienced Head of Finance, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the finance function while supporting reporting, compliance and operational finance activities.
Based in the Eastern Suburbs, this is a hands-on role offering broad exposure across financial accounting, compliance, reporting, cash flow and business partnering.
Your new role
Reporting to the Head of Finance, your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and lodging BAS across multiple entities
• Preparing reconciliations and supporting schedules for consolidated reporting
• Assisting with audit and tax processes, including liaising with external accountants and auditors
• Completing month end activities including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
• Supporting year end close and preparation of audit workpapers
• Assisting with cash flow forecasting and reporting
• Managing fortnightly supplier payment runs
• Reviewing payroll and superannuation payments for accuracy and compliance
• Supporting annual budgeting processes and preparing variance analysis
• Acting as a key point of contact for internal finance queries
• Providing ad hoc reporting and analysis to support business decision making

What you'll need to succeed

• CA or CPA qualified, or currently studying towards completion
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a Financial Accountant or Senior Accountant position
• Strong technical accounting skills across BAS, reconciliations and month end reporting
• Experience working within a multi-entity environment is highly regarded
• Strong Excel skills and exposure to Xero or similar accounting systems
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across the business
