Job Title: Real Estate Accountant

Location: New York City

Salary: $115,000-$130,000

Company Summary: An investment management firm specializing in Real Estate is looking to make a key hire to their accounting team. The Accountant will play a critical role by supporting the mortgage, investments, and finance teams. This role will require an accountant who has the ability to complete financial reporting, hedging, month-end close, and investment tasks in an efficient manner across a complex mortgage and structured credit platform.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with month-end close, including journal entries and portfolio reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Prepare reconciliations and maintain audit-ready workpapers (SOX compliant)
• Create reports for management and regulatory purposes
• Explain financial variances and support audits and process improvements across teams

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• 2+ years of working with Real Estate
• 4+ years of experience in accounting, audit or related field
• Familiarity with mortgage or fixed income (TBA, Loans, MSR)
• NetSuite, SQL, Python experience are a plus
